Gasthof Löwen

Surprise cave menu

Gasthof Löven is not just around the corner in terms of its location, but it is a place worth the journey for special tastes. When we entered the venue, we liked a special ambience created by the wine corks used for decoration.

We started our evening by visiting the Wine exhibition in the small cave. We were particularly interested in a price list from the early 1900s at the very special entrance to this place because overnight barn and animal feed prices were available on it.

We then continued by taking our snack at the large Oak table in the guest room. This is a place with a bit of a family atmosphere where you can sit with other customers. It was possible to watch the kitchen a little from where we sat, and it seemed that everyone was working in a calm inside. As a snack, there were chips fried in oil next to the artichoke black with olive oil, Green olives and Tomato sauce to get up and plate on one side of the hall.

After finishing our snacks, we went to our table in the cave where we had reserved our places. There was a refreshing coolness inside. I think this coolness can be very interesting, especially on hot summer days. We started our meal with sparkling curry soup served in canned bottles. The fog had made a slight vacuum from the heat of the soup. The walnut bread next to it was baked in a small pot and served in a pot. The bread and soup tasted good, and if the soup had been a little darker, it would have been nicer. (In practice, this is a matter of taste)

Next up was Taboulé Salad, some of which was marinated raw and frozen into rolls and purees, served with fresh cheese from a piece of tesin area, and the serving plate was very pleasing to the eye, refreshing and delicious in taste.

We had come to the intermediate cold where we would refresh our stomachs slightly. Mint Pineapple sorbet ice cream, served in a can (hard alcoholic beverage) with a slight minus (hard alcoholic beverage) (thanks to the friends at the service were careful with my alcohol-free service). In the meantime, immediately after the intermediate cold, the same product was offered to us again with another form of service. We couldn’t quite make sense of it in the menu, but we soon found out that it had been served to us by mistake (which was a pleasant surprise rather than a mistake that would have angered us).

And so we came to our main dish Smoked mashed potatoes, Tops and two kinds of Red Angus Steak (one prepared in the form of steak and the other in the form of meatballs), garnished with toppery and vegetables and served with Rosemary sauce on top, cooked in pink (Rosa). The main menu appealed very nicely to the palate.

So we had desserts at the end of this evening. The chocolate cake containing 70% cacao was served with polished quince and the Chef’s own fresh Sempita ice cream. Every once in a while, the taste of Habenero hot pepper was felt as a surprise. I, a chocolate lover, liked the dessert very much. In addition to the coffees, the tasting little cake pieces were also very pleasant in terms of taste.

For me, Gasthof Löwen was a pleasant venue with its ambiance and uncomplicated staff. The content of the surprise menu was very versatile and the presentation was prepared pleasantly to the eye. For me, who is a chocolate lover, the dessert prepared with 70% Cocoa content chocolate ended the evening in a wonderful way. A place I can recommend to anyone who wants to go.

I would like to thank the chef and service staff who paid special attention to the fact that the surprise menu did not contain pork as per our belief and that my menu was prepared without alcohol.
